A community car wash fundraiser to raise $65,000 for the Twin Falls Senior Center — organized by Pillar Falls Ward Youth.
The Model
A simple commitment: pledge a dollar amount per car, and pay based on how many cars our youth actually wash.
Choose your amount — $1, $5, $10, $20, or more — for every car our youth wash on event day.
Our youth team washes up to 250 cars. We tally the count and report back to every sponsor.
Your donation funds hot meals, wellness programs, and vital support for Twin Falls seniors.
Simple math:
Pledge $10 per car × 250 cars = $2,500 total contribution
Your total is capped at 250 cars — the maximum we commit to washing.
Why This Matters
For decades, the Twin Falls Senior Center has been a lifeline for hundreds of Magic Valley seniors — providing nutritious daily meals, social connection, wellness programs, and transportation assistance.
Many seniors served live alone, on fixed incomes, with limited mobility. The Center's programs aren't a luxury — they're how these neighbors stay nourished, healthy, and connected.
Your pledge funds the programs that keep seniors independent and thriving right here in Twin Falls.
Nutritious meals served on-site and delivered to homebound seniors throughout the community.
Enriching activities, classes, and community programs that combat loneliness and isolation.
Exercise classes, health screenings, and resources that keep seniors active and independent.
Rides to medical appointments, the Center, and essential services for those without reliable transport.

Your Community
The youth of Pillar Falls Ward are committed to serving our community by supporting those who came before us. This event is entirely youth-led — from outreach to car washing to delivery of funds. Your pledge invests in two generations at once: the seniors who benefit, and the youth who serve.
A Tax-Smart Way to Give
If you're 59½ or older, your retirement savings can fund this pledge — often with significant tax advantages. Two options worth knowing.
At age 59½, the IRS allows you to withdraw from your 401(k), 403(b), or traditional IRA without the 10% early withdrawal penalty. You can then use those funds to make a pledge to the Senior Center.
The withdrawal is still subject to ordinary income tax — but if you itemize deductions, your charitable donation may offset a portion of that tax liability.
Withdraw $2,500 → pledge $10/car × 250 cars = $2,500 to the Senior Center. Donation may be deductible if you itemize.
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) lets you transfer up to $105,000 per year directly from your IRA to a qualifying charity. The amount is excluded from your taxable income entirely — not just deducted.
QCDs also count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), making them one of the most tax-efficient ways to give if you're 70½ or older — particularly if you don't itemize deductions.
The distribution must go directly from your IRA custodian to the qualifying charity. Contact your IRA provider to initiate a QCD.
This is general information, not tax advice. Please consult your tax advisor or financial planner to determine which option is best for your situation. Both strategies are legal, IRS-recognized approaches to charitable giving from retirement accounts.
